A ADVISA (Ass. dos Deficientes da Vitória de Santo Antão) ganha nova sede na cidade. O prédio é conhecido com antigo balneário do Clube o Leão, próximo à AABB e foi disponibilizado pelo Prefeito José Aglailson. Como vimos, o local ainda apresenta alguns problemas tais como falta de água e energia elétrica. A necessidade de um banheiro adaptado e conserto das bacias quebradas ainda impedem que os deficientes se reúnam regularmente. Porém as reformas, administradas pela Prefeitura, já estão em fase de andamento. Uma rampa de acesso à piscina está pronta.
Além disso, o local é extraordinário, de acordo com a opinião dos líderes da Associação, que têm em mente alguns projetos esportivos (natação, atletismo adaptado, basquete em cadeiras de rodas, volley sentado, tênis de mesa, entre outros), inclusão social (fabricação de detergentes e derivados, vassouras, etc), educacionais/capacitação profissional (aulas de informática, inglês e alfabetização). O grupo certamente precisará de ajuda da iniciativa privada. É importante citar que a delegação canadense do Parapan (Rio - 2007) tomou conhecimento do projeto e demonstrou interesse em contribuir mas salienta que precisa sentir também o envolvimento da sociedade vitoriense, como eles já o fazem em outros projetos pelo mundo (por isso a tradução da matéria em inglês logo abaixo). No que depender dos membros da Associação, o sucesso esportivo está garantido, pois o Presidente da mesma é medalhista das Para-Olimpíadas de Atlanta - E.U.A (1996), porém nas outras áreas ainda faz-se necessário o engajamento da cidade. Não só dos órgãos governamentais mas da população como um todo, afinal o sucesso deve ser coletivo. Bençãos aos deficientes da nossa região.

ADVISA (which stands for Association for Handiccapped People from the city of Vitória de Santo Antão) gets a new headquarters in our city. The building is known to be the old pool place for Clube o Leão (Lion's Club), next to AABB (it stands for Athletic Association from Brazil's Bank) and it was temporarily donated by the Mayor José Aglailson. As we could observe, the place still got some problems as lack of water and electricity. What stops the handicapped ones to meet regularly is the necessity of an adapted bathroom as much as fixing the broken toilets. But, the Mayor is in charge of dealing with those and it's already in process of repairment. A ramp of access to the pools is ready. Beyond that, the place is extraordinary, according to the opinion of the leaders of the organization, who keep in mind some projects in the area of sports (swimming, track and field, wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, table tennis and so on), social inclusion (production of detergents and derivatives, brooms, etc) education/professional preparation (Computer, English and Literacy classes). The group will certainly need the help from private initiative. It's important to quote that the Canadian Team from the Parapanam Games (Rio - 2007) was told about the project and demonstrated interest in contributing, on the condition that the society from our city also gets involved, since they do the same kind of work throughout the world (that's the reason this article has been translated into English). On what depends on the members of the Association, the sport success is guaranteed, as its President got a medal in the Para-Olympic Games in Atlanta - U.S.A (1996), but in the other areas the city needs to be engaged, not only the government organs but the population as a whole, anyway, the success must be colective.
